Host your next gathering at Slow Matter. Our private pottery events are hands-on, guided experiences designed for groups looking to create something meaningful together. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a bachelorette party, organizing a team outing, working on a Girl Scouts pottery badge, or gathering friends and family, we’ll tailor the session to fit your group.

Choose from wheel throwing or handbuilding in a relaxed, supportive studio setting. All materials, instruction, glazing, and firing are included. After your event, pieces will be finished and ready for pickup once fired.

Expect a little clay, plenty of laughs, and a finished piece to take home.

FAQ

  • Yes! You're more than welcome to bring food/drinks (including alcohol), but keep in mind that eating will cut into your pottery time.

  • Our private classes require a minimum of 4 people and we can accommodate up to 25 people.

  • Our classes are all 2 hours long, however additional time may be available for an additional cost. Contact us for more info.

  • A deposit is required to reserve your date. Cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice. Deposits are non-refundable but may be applied toward a one-time reschedule.

  • Since you are booking a private class, there is no minimum age! However, please keep in mind that littles under 6 years old tend to have a difficult time working with clay.

  • Unfortunately, no. All pieces must be dried, fired, glazed, and fired again before pickup, which typically takes 2–4 weeks.

  • Absolutely. We’re happy to tailor the format for birthdays, bachelorettes, Girl Scout badge workshops, team-building sessions, and other special gatherings.

  • Definitely. Event organizers are welcome to come up to 30 minutes early prior to their scheduled class start time to set up decorations. You are also welcome to connect to our speakers and play your own music!
