Firing

Made it at home but need a kiln? We offer firing services for experienced makers who don’t require studio access. Work must be ready to fire and meet studio standards.

Info

Our Firing Membership is designed for independent ceramicists who create off-site and need consistent, reliable kiln access.

This membership includes kiln firing only and does not include studio access, use of tools or equipment, glazing materials, or storage space. All work must be fully dry (bone dry for greenware), properly labeled, and made from studio-approved clay bodies prior to drop-off.

Firing Membership costs $100/month and includes roughly two full kiln shelves per month (or comparable volume). Additional shelf space may be available for an additional fee. Size and height limits apply, and all pieces must meet studio firing guidelines.

Work must be picked up within the designated pickup window after notification. Slow Matter is not responsible for breakage, glaze defects, or other firing outcomes inherent to the ceramic process.
